Purpose
The purpose of the Distinguished Minorities in Dentistry Mentorship program is to prepare quality underrepresented students for careers in dentistry through mentorship, professional development, and community service. Our organization has a great interest in increasing diversity within the field of dentistry.

Faculty Advisor:
Dr. Annety Soto D.M.D
Dr. Soto graduated with her DMD in 2006 from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In 2008 she earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Fixed, Removal, and Implant Assisted Dental Prosthesis and Dental Esthetics Restorations from the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Prior to coming to UF Dr. Soto completed a Geriatric Dental Medicine fellowship at Boston University and Boston Medical Center and worked as a general dentist for the Community Health Center of Cape Cod, Massachusetts treating wheelchair bound and special needs patients. Currently at UFCD, she is a clinical assistant professor and is involved in research related to clinical care, oral diseases care and dental treatment and management of older patients and medically compromised adults.
We are so excited and beyond thankful to have someone like her as our advisor!
President: Chione Daniel
Chione graduated from the University of Florida as a Health Education and Behavior major. This is her fourth year at UFCD and she is currently our DMDMP President and a member of SNDA and Psi-Omega. In addition to these student organizations, she is also involved in mission trips, Dental College Council, and FREEdom Clinic.
Vice President: Chanyce Williams
Chanyce has a Bachelors in Chemistry with a Minor in Spanish from the University of South Florida. She is a D2 and is the cofounder and Vice President of DMDMP, a member of SNDA and AAPHD, and the former Class President of the UFCD Class of 2023. She is very passionate about serving the underserved and paving the way for underrepresented minorities in dentistry.

Secretary: Toni-Ann McLeod
Toni-Ann graduated from the University of South Florida with a major in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Public Health. She is a D3 at UFCD and in addition to being our amazing secretary, she is also a member of SNDA and AAWD.
Treasurer - Keith McIntosh
Keith graduated from the University of Florida as a Health Science Major. As a D2 at UFCD, we are thankful to have him as our DMDMP Treasurer as he also serves as an Admissions Committee Member, Admission Outreach Ambassador, and SNDA Parliamentarian.
Membership Chair - Wunmi Oni
Wunmi received her degree in Biological Science with a minor in African Studies from the University of Georgia. Here at UFCD as a D2, she is currently the Membership Chair for DMDMP, an Admissions Outreach Ambassador, Dental Ambassador, Vice President/Co-Alumni Chair for SNDA and a member of Smiley Gators.
Community Service Chair - Wooy Jean-Baptiste
Wooy graduated from the University of Florida with an Applied Physiology and Kinesiology degree. He is a second year dental student at UFCD. In addition to being a great Community Service Chair for DMDMP he is also a great Historian for SNDA!
Social Chair: Daisha Alston
Daisha has a degree in Biology from the College of Coastal Georgia. She is a first year dental student and we are very excited to have her as one of our three social chairs!
Social Chair: Kristen Anderson
Kristen earned her Bachelor's in Chemistry from Florida International University. She is currently a first year dental student at UFCD, one of our three DMDMP Social Chairs and a member of SNDA.
Social Chair: Sydney Bates
Sydney received her degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida. She is currently a first year dental student at UFCD, one of our three DMDMP Social Chairs and a member of Psi-Omega and SNDA.
